Banana Jones and Fish Catch: a board game and a fish shooter

Banana Jones and Fish Catch are the two game-style titles in Springbok Casino's Specialty tab, next to keno and European Roulette. Banana Jones is a dice board game: each bet buys 5 rolls along a path where vines lift you and snakes drop you back, and Springbok's review puts the top reward at 2,565x the bet. Fish Catch is a shooting game for up to 4 players, known mainly from a Springbok preview written before launch. Neither counts toward bonus wagering.

Banana Jones game rules: rolls, vines and snakes

Banana Jones plays like snakes and ladders with a pay table attached. You set a bet, and the bet buys a fixed set of dice rolls: 5, according to the lobby tile, while Springbok's preview describes the throw as two dice. Each roll moves Banana Jones along a numbered path, and the square he stops on decides what happens next.

  • Vines work like ladders: stop at the foot of one and he climbs to the top.
  • Snakes work the other way: stop on a snake's head and he slides down to its tail.
  • Symbols are what pay. Winnings depend on how many gems, vines and snakes you collect, per the pay table below.
  • The Treasure Wheel square gives one spin of a wheel for a cash prize.
  • The Giant Temple at the end of the path opens the Crystal Banana Quest.

How a Banana Jones turn works

  1. Each bet gives 5 dice rolls (lobby tile; Springbok's preview mentions two dice).
  2. Land on the base of a vine and Banana Jones climbs to its top.
  3. Land on a snake's head and he slides down to its tail.
  4. The Treasure Wheel square gives one spin for a cash prize.
  5. Reach the Giant Temple at the end of the board for the Crystal Banana Quest pick.

The game has sat in Springbok's lobby since 1 August 2018. This guide's check found no published bet range or return-to-player figure for it, so neither is given here.

Banana Jones pay table: gems, vines and snakes

The game's help page pays by symbol count, in multiples of your bet. The top line is 5 gems at 40x. Three gems pay 1x, which only hands back the stake, and three vines pay 25x. Snake symbols pay too, from 0.5x for two. In the help page's table, 4 snakes pay the same 5x as 3.

Springbok's 2,565x maximum reward is far beyond the 40x top line above. It is a review figure this guide could not match to a published prize list, because the Treasure Wheel and quest prizes are not set out in the sources checked. Treat it as Springbok's claim, not as a pay-table line.

Treasure Wheel and the Crystal Banana Quest

Two features sit on top of the symbol pays. The Treasure Wheel is a single square on the board: stop on it and you get one spin for a cash prize. The Crystal Banana Quest begins when Banana Jones reaches the Giant Temple at the end of the path. There you open chests of fruit (plum, apple, banana, grape and pear), each fruit fills its own counter, and the first counter to fill pays its prize.

Whether you reach the temple depends on the dice and the snakes, so treat the quest as a bonus that turns up when it turns up, not something a bet can steer toward.

Fish Catch game: what Springbok's preview describes

Thin, pre-launch facts

No help page could be found for Fish Catch. Its figures come from a Springbok preview written before the game reached the lobby (lobby date 16 January 2019); nothing was read in the game, and no bet range in rand is published.

The lobby tile calls Fish Catch a multiplayer shooting game: choose a room, aim at more than 20 kinds of fish, switch cannons for more fire power, play across different maps and compete for top-winner prizes. Everything more specific comes from Springbok's preview, starting with the players and the cannons:

Fish Catch cannons, as Springbok's preview describes them

  1. Up to 4 players share a room and shoot at more than 20 kinds of fish.
  2. Five cannons multiply the bet: x1, x2, x3, x5 and x10.
Illustration of the rules only, drawn by this guide: not a real round, not Springbok's artwork, and not a guide to what will happen next. Every figure here comes from a Springbok preview written before the game launched; nothing was read in the game.

The same preview adds three figures:

  • Bet denominations of 0.01, 0.02, 0.10, 0.50, 1.00 and 2.50, with no currency named.
  • A Mermaid's Luck roulette that can add up to 250x the bet.
  • A top prize of 1,000x the stake.

A rules page filed under a fish-game name on the provider's help site describes the Scuba Fishing slot, a different game, so it is not used here. Until Springbok publishes Fish Catch rules in rand, read these figures as its own description.

Bonus wagering: why both games are cash-only

Not on the wagering list

Springbok's terms name the games that clear a bonus: 7 Stud Poker, Bingo games, European Slot Poker, Keno, Pai Gow Poker, Scratch Cards and all Slots. Banana Jones and Fish Catch are not on it. A bet on an unlisted game, placed before wagering is finished, voids the bonus and whatever it won, so the sensible way in is a cash balance with no coupon running.

Springbok terms and conditions, checked 9 October 2026.

In practice that comes down to one habit: while a coupon is still being wagered, leave these two alone, or stick to keno, which shares the tab and is on the list. Once the playthrough is finished, or if you never redeemed a coupon, Banana Jones and Fish Catch run on cash like any other game.

The keno guide shows how keno stakes count toward a coupon. The crash games and Henferno follow the same cash-only rule as these two.

Before you play: browsers, practice and limits

Springbok says the casino is instant-play HTML5 in any modern browser on desktop and mobile, with no download or app needed; one account and balance on every device Springbok says, 9 October 2026

Springbok says logged-out visitors get a one-off R1,000 fun balance, the cheapest way to learn a board or a cannon you have never seen. Here is how Springbok's practice mode works, step by step.

Set your limit before either game opens. Quick, colourful games make it easy to lose count of what has gone in, and a bet that buys several rolls still costs the full bet up front. If keeping to a limit gets hard, the help lines at the foot of this page are free and confidential.

Quick answers

What is Banana Jones at Springbok Casino?

A dice board game in the Specialty tab. Each bet gives 5 rolls (lobby tile); vines move Banana Jones up the board, snakes send him back, and collected gems, vines and snakes pay from the help-page table.

What is the maximum win on Banana Jones?

Springbok's review gives a maximum reward of 2,565x the bet. The help-page symbol table tops out at 40x, and prizes for the Treasure Wheel and the Crystal Banana Quest were not found in the sources checked.

How many players can play Fish Catch?

Springbok's pre-launch preview says up to 4 players share a game. No help page for Fish Catch could be found, so that figure is Springbok's.

Do Banana Jones and Fish Catch count toward Springbok's bonus wagering?

No. Neither is on the list in Springbok's terms, and a bet on an excluded game before a bonus is fully wagered voids the bonus and its winnings. Keno, in the same tab, does count.
